Last week, over Thanksgiving break, I had a mini photo shoot with my sister Sofia.
My sister and I have different, yet similar in some ways, styles. She’s a little more downtown and gravitates towards brands like Helmut Lang, Isabel Marant, Celine and Balmain. Whereas, I love J Crew and Tory Burch.
She’s very New York chic, and I’m more Palm Beach casual, as she would say.
However, even with our separate styles, we always borrow each other’s clothes and have similar tastes when it comes to accessories like jewelry, shoes and bags.
So, we decided to do a style swap and she picked my outfits.
Here’s look #1!
Sweater: Missoni x Target // Jeans: J Crew // Shoes: Steve Madden // Bag: Chanel (borrowed) // Cuff: Chanel (borrowed) // Hat: H&M (borrowed)
This is something I’m not sure if I would wear in real life (I love the hat, but I can’t see myself wearing it around Gainesville for class). However, I would totally throw this look together if we were in New York.
With that being said, I ended up loving how the look came out. It was comfy (jeans are always my go-to) and simply chic. I like layers because it’s easy for me to peel one off if I get too hot throughout the day in classes, or get chilly when I’m back outside.
And, look #2:
Sweater: Free People (borrowed) // Belt: Hermes (borrowed) // Jeans: J Brand // Shoes + Bag: Tory Burch // Sunglasses: Forever 21
This second look is really fun. I normally don’t pick out crop tops but this Free People sweater-version is more me. I stole my sister’s Hermes belt and finished the look with my new Tory Burch bag.
Although it was kind of hard finding what to wear underneath the sweater, I can see myself wearing this look.
Phew! What a long post. It was really cool doing this with my sister and hopefully we’ll have more fun (and different-than-usual) looks to come!
